Newton Dixon: Profile of a man who loves his Kick Scooter

by Jack on July 5, 2012

Here at NYCeWheels, we see a lot of new faces in a very short amount of time. We may spend a half-hour, or an hour speaking with a customer, trying to help them find what they need, but once they find that perfect folding bike or scooter, they bid us good day and a new customer with a new question comes our way. It’s easy to forget that each customer we meet goes off and has a whole life full of experiences. It’s always wonderful when someone gets back to us with some stories of their adventures.

Newton Dixon: Kick Scooter aficionado

Newton Dixon purchased his Xootr Street Kick Scooter from us in January, 2012. As an airline employee, Newton does a lot of traveling and a Kick Scooter is a perfect way to get around a new city and see the sights. At the airport, his Xootr gets through security no problem, fits easily in the overhead compartment, and, once he arrives at his destination, he’s on his way, jetting around the city and having a blast.

On his latest excursion, Newton took his Xootr to San Francisco, rode all though the city, and made a point of sending us his best pictures:

Since returning from San Francisco, Newton Dixon, has been keeping in touch with NYCeWheels, posting about his adventures on our Facebook, sending us more photos, and even filming some great videos of him riding his Kick Scooter in Manhattan.

The Kick Scooter: a perfect traveling companion

Recently, I had the pleasure of speaking with Newton Dixon on the phone. I asked him what he enjoys most about his Xootr, he described the Kick Scooter as a “Perfect traveling companion. Fits in the overhead, no charge, I love it as a way to experience and see all the new places I go, and it’s definitely an attention grabber— it’s always fun to notice people stopping and staring.”

How fast can you go on a Kick Scooter

I also have a suspicion that Newton Dixon loves going really fast on his Xootr. This suspicion is founded, in large part, on a you tube video he sent us last week entitled, “Xootr Speed Test NYC” in which Newton takes his Xootr down the 59th St Bridge in NYC approaching pretty mind blowing speeds.

So in honor of the time Newton has taken to send us these awesome pictures and videos, and in honor of his sheer love of his Xootr Kick Scooter, I would like to extend him a warm thanks. To all our customers, feel free to emulate Mr Dixon, send us your photos and videos, let us know about your favorite rides on your folding bike, or the adventures you have on your Kick Scooter!
