If you’ve test ridden a BionX kit in the shop these past few years you probably rode our Dahon Matrix BionX conversion. This trusty folding mountain bike made a great electric bike conversion and introduced countless customers to the pleasure of riding a BionX bike. But with the introduction of the latest BionX G2 consoles and improved technologies used in their electric kits we figured it was about time to retire our shop BionX bike for an updated, improved version.
Introducing our new BionX bike
Our Adventure 3 BionX electric bike
The new BionX bike resting on our shop floor is built on a Cannondale Adventure 3 frame. The bicycle is ideally suited to a BionX electric kit and because it is both comfortable and adjustable it should be able to work for anyone who comes in looking to try one of the worlds greatest electric bike kits. Our BionX bike has front suspension and seat post suspension, a lower top tube frame for easier on/off movement, and 26″ hybrid city tires that are perfect for city riding.
Features of the new BionX electric bike
BionX G2 Console
The new BionX kit has a lot of nice features. The first thing you see when you use the kit is a nice big display console letting you know exactly what’s happening moment to moment on your electric bike kit. On our Adventure 3 BionX bike this console nests perfectly next to the shifter on the left side. Just as nicely fit is the ring throttle/controller adjacent to the right hand shifter. The new BionX kit is designed to be easily integrated into a wide variety of bicycles. Our Adventure 3 is a great example of this.
