Living in the city, there’s a million different ways to get from point A to point B. With Google Maps and iPhones, you can now enter your address and map a route through the city by car, public transit, or walking. This is all super convenient – unless you’re on a bike.
More often than not, I’ve mapped out my “walking” path through New York only to find Google sending me the wrong way down one-way streets, through pedestrian-only zones, and down streets that are not very bike-friendly.
Drag the Green bike icon to your starting point, scroll down for directions:
Ride the city, an intuitive website designed to map your fastest or safest route through the city. Set your starting destination using the bicycle icon and the end destination using the Stop sign. Select “Direct,” “Safe,” or “Safer” as the route, and afterwards you can provide feedback about the route you just took.
Additionally, Ride The City shows where all the bike shops along the way are located, as well as information about bike rentals and repairs. You can actually map your ride directly to any number of bike shops, including NYCeWheels!
