Man, was this was a project! The production of this Stromer electric bike video review spanned nearly 2 months and included helicopter crashes, a change in season… Peter even shaved his head! After all that, you know it has to be good. Let me tell you a bit about what went into making the Stromer electric bike video.
It started out with a bike. Not just any bike though, a beautifully crafted Swiss electric bike that had just been brought into the US and hadn’t yet received the attention it deserved. The Stromer bike is one of the best – and least known – electric bikes… sort of a secret of the electric bike world. We were out to change that.
An electric bike video with helicopter footage…
So on our first day of shooting (back in late September!) we took out the Stromer Standard Model. This bike is sweet. A 600 watt motor, 10 ah lithium battery, and super slick design are just a few of the great features we couldn’t wait to show off.
After filming the regular hand held shots it came time to grab a few helicopter shots. Bert, being the RC nut he is, rigged up a quad-copter with a GoPro video camera so he can capture the action from in flight. We were getting some great footage as he chased me on the Stromer bike – through trees, across bridges, over the water – and just when we were about the head back to the shop…
Crash! The helicopter battery died in flight and sent it plummeting into a swamp – ejecting the SD card from the GoPro on impact. Well, we were able to recover the copter but the card was lost among the reeds, along with our nice footage!

So, after all that we were a bit frustrated things got put aside for a bit. Then, Brent from Legacy E Ride got in touch with us and offered to send a demo model of the Stromer Elite, a super deluxe bike that would be available in 2012. We figured this was about the time to finish up our video and so we’ve spent the last few days getting it all done.
