The History of Dahon

Dr. David Hon has come a long way since the dawn of the first Dahon folding bike in 1982. Today, we got a chance to ride their first electric bike, the Dahon Boost. With three levels of pedal assistance, and a motor built into the bottom bracket, the Boost is an outstanding little machine.

To commemorate Dahon’s outstanding achievments in folding bikes, we’ve added a Dahon History section to our website, explaining Dr. Hon’s start as a physicist in laser technology, and eventual development of the first Dahon folding bike. Thanks Dr. Hon for all of your convenient 2-wheeled folders. Many of our happy customers, the ones taking their bikes on the trains and buses, appreciate your novel idea as well.
